North Jakarta Government through Health Sub-agency organized the city-level World Immunization Week (PID) 2025 at Pegangsaan Dua LRT Station on Jalan Kelapa Nias, Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading.

"Our target was 100 children today, but more than 120 children attended the event,"

North Jakarta Secretary, Fredy Setiawan, stated that this year's PID carries the theme "Complete Immunization for a Healthy Generation Towards Jakarta Global City". This event aimed to raise public awareness about adhering to immunization schedules.

"Complete immunization can prevent vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) such as tuberculosis, measles, rubella, hepatitis, pertussis, and others," he mentioned on Thursday (5/15).

He hopes this event will achieve high and equitable immunization coverage across all RWs and RTs, ensuring that no child is left unimmunized. Additionally, people can access immunization services for free at integrated health center (posyandu) or community health center (puskesmas).

"This activity is possible due to the collaboration through all parties. I urge parents to complete the immunization status of their children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or relatives," he expressed.

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Acting Head (Plt), Ratna Sari, added that the city-level World Immunization Week is held annually, stressing that immunization is a fundamental for human right that must be filled and advocated by all elements of society.

In addition to children immunization, this event also featured a talkshow, consultation with pediatric specialists, coloring activity, and free health checkups.

"This year, we collaborate with PT LRT to hold PID, as well as to introduce public transportation to the public. Our target was 100 children today, but more than 120 children attended the event," she admitted.

Ratna detailed that from January to May, the complete basic immunization coverage in North Jakarta reached 7,117 (27.9 percent) out of a target 25,844 (100 percent). Last year, North Jakarta achieved 99.5 percent target, and this year, it aims to reach 100 percent.

"Hopefully, North Jakarta residents can achieve immunity and be free from diseases thus they can work optimally," she conveyed.

Rifa (37), a resident of Kelapa Gading and mother of Rizky Apriano, welcomed the free immunization service at LRT station. She admitted that she regularly follows the immunization schedule at Posyandu.

"I believe that complete immunization provides health and immunity for my child. Today, my child received PCV vaccine," she said.
